    BD Urology and Critical Care, a BD Company, is seeking to fill the position of Distribution Supervisor in Covington, GA.  Bard Medical has joined BD together, advancing the world of health. 

     

    Summary of Position with General Responsibilities

    This position directs and coordinates activities of the Global Distribution Center’s associates and all operations related to the receipt, storage, and distribution of product.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Ensures timely and accurate shipments of orders from the distribution center.
    • Effectively utilizes and ensures compliance with Bard’s inventory control and warehouse management systems (JDE, HighJump, MFG-Pro).
    • Ensures compliance with all applicable company and government policies (FDA, OSHA); compliance with DOT requirements, customer requirements legal procedures, carrier tariffs and contracts.
    • Ensures departmental procedures, SOPs, work instructions and GMPs/QSRs are updated and training provided to associates as required within 14 days of issuance. This also includes required self-training on the above.
    • Plans work schedules and assigns duties to maintain adequate staffing levels; ensures activities are performed effectively and is able to manage fluctuating workloads.
    • Reviews work throughout the work process and at completion to ensure that it has been performed accurately and efficiently.
    • Communicates clear and concise work instructions to associates to ensure understanding of assigned duties.
    • Evaluates employee performance; prepares performance appraisals; prepares and maintains work records and reports that include information such as employees’ time and inspection results.
    • Conducts staff meetings to relay general information or to address specific topics such as safety, quality, policy changes, etc.
    • Counsels employees in work-related activities, personal growth, and career development.
    • Recommends or initiates personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, and disciplinary measures; resolves personnel problems complaints or refers them to higher-level management for resolution.
    • Must be able to work a flexible shift and weekends as business requirements dictate.
    • Responsible for following and monitoring/correcting associates in Good Documentation Practices (GDP) as outlined in the SOP.
    • Must ensure safety first environment and be able to work diligently to maintain safe working conditions and adhere to proper operating practices and procedures designed to prevent injuries and illnesses.

      Regular and reliable attendance at work.

     

     

    Basic Qualifications

    • Operational experience in FDA, OSHA, GMP/QSR compliance, CPIM, Logistics or Distribution, Process Excellence, Lean and ISO.
    • Must have knowledge of inventory and warehouse management systems, i.e. JDE, High Jump and MFG-Pro systems.
    • Ability to perform/operate in a metrics-driven environment.
    • Knowledge of inventory control techniques.
    • Proficient in the use of a personal computer with intermediate level of keyboarding skills.
    • Must have experience in MS Office: Excel, Word, Outlook
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Must have strong leadership skills.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • Knowledge of principles and methods for distribution of product.
    • Understands and can efficiently use computer hardware/software to convey and retrieve information.

     

    Education and/or Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or
      • Associate's degree from two-year college or technical school and two to three years’ related experience; or
      • High school graduate [or GED] and four to five years’ related work experience.
    • Minimum of three-seven years’ supervisory experience in a fast-paced environment.
