  • Overview

    The Planning & Materials Manager is responsible for the management of the Planning and Materials functions for a multi-facility operation in Juarez Mexico.  The position’s focus is to coordinate the efforts of both function groups to efficiently manage the supply of materials as determined by the master scheduling function for the manufacturing processes.  The position needs to be able to extract the necessary information from various computer systems in a timely manner (monarch modeling and excel proficiency) in order to provide direction to the entire operation.  The position is also responsible for managing the relationships of the purchasing area in and outside of the facility in order to guarantee delivery of materials when needed, as well as, purchase price variance targets established yearly.

    Summary of Position with General Responsibilities

    Effectively plan manufacturing processes and staffing levels to meet production schedules on time and achieve quality goals using equipment, materials, and human resources efficiently.

    Administer the department’s budget.

    Ensure that the Master Planning Schedule and Production Planning are accurately received, communicated and attained, while maintaining acceptable levels of customer service.

    Manage all processes, equipment, operations personnel and other resources associated with the assembly, packaging and delivery of manufactured medical devices.

    Lead the continuous improvement of processes and products. This is achieved by managing operations, monitoring their performance, and providing the required resources and environment to ensure timely execution of both functional groups.

    Provide management and direction of the master schedule of the Bard Juarez facility.

    Lead efforts to expeditiously resolve manufacturing and service issues coordinating with the BOC, Suppliers, and Quality   Assurance.

    Interact with other Staff Managers as needed to assure high level of support for the manufacturing operations.

    Assure compliance to Bard’s Policies and Procedures.

    Mandatory compliance to general and safety procedures applying to this position.

    Drive the Procurement Function to required inventory levels and cost saving projects as determined by yearly goals.

    Basic Qualifications

    • College degree in Engineering or Administration Field.
    • 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. History of Planning Mgmt and Purchasing Mgmt a must

    • Able to fully communicate in English & Spanish
    • World Class Manufacturing skills application experience.

    • ISO13485:2003 knowledge.

    • MBA Preferred

    • Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) preferred.

    • Certified Professional in Supply Chain Management (CPSM) preferred

    • Six Sigma Green Belt

    • High level of Excel proficiency (V-Looks up a minimum and Monarch Data mining a plus)
