  • Summary of Position with General Responsibilities

    Directs all aspects of Supply Chain including SIOP, Demand Forecasting, Supply Planning, New Product Launch, Inventory Management, Consignment Management, Returned Goods and Distribution of Clinical Product.  Also responsible for Network Strategy, Capacity Planning, Lifecycle Management and Supply Chain oversight to meet or exceed customer service or financial targets.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Owns full SIOP process for Demand Management, Manufacturing and Executive review.
    • Directs Demand Planning teams resulting in forecasts with minimum error through close interface with Marketing/Sales.
    • Establish targets and manages finished goods inventory levels to meet Customer Service (LIFR) goals.
    • Optimize inventory deployment globally to ensure minimal obsolete or expired product.
    • Manages consignment inventory programs using appropriate metrics and processes to achieve target inventory turns, reporting accuracy while minimizing expired or obsolete customer inventory.
    • Manages distribution of Clinical Product with distribution partners in close contact with R&D and Clinical Department.
    • Initiates and coordinates Global Capacity Planning analysis and proposals to Senior Leadership.
    • Recommends appropriate Supply Chains for New and Existing Products.
    • Supports New Product Commercialization by developing capacity requirements and SKU-level forecasts in close coordination with New Product Development, Marketing, Sales and Operations. Executes and tracks attainment to plan to ensure customer service goals are met.
    • Leads lifecycle management programs to phase-out product and minimize obsolescence.
    • Leads efforts to expeditiously resolve Customer Service issues coordinating with Marketing/Sales, Operations, and Quality Assurance.
    • Leverages Lean and Six Sigma tools for process re-design in order to reduce waste, increase responsiveness while increasing customer service.
    • Coordinates Business Planning process to ensure demand accurately reflects long-range market and product projections.
    • Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to management.
    • Responsible to create and manage department budget.
    • Recruit, train and manage supply chain resources and all subordinate levels.

    Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge

    Excellent analytical, interpersonal, management and negotiating skills required.  Posses a strong systems background, especially in ERP/APS/MRP systems. Excellent written and oral skills required.  Excellent ability to use PC's and sophisticated software, especially databases and spreadsheets.

    Education and/or Experience

    Bachelor degree required in Business, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain or Logistics.  Masters or MBA a plus.  Ten-plus years of related experience.  Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) a plus.  Customer Service experience preferred. Lean or Six Sigma experience preferred.
