    The Glens Falls Operation is known as Bard’s Technology Center and is Bard’s largest domestic manufacturing facility employing approximately 700 in a three shift operation. The Glens Falls Operation manufactures over 20 different product lines serving all Bard Divisions

    Summary of Position with General Responsibilities

    Works in conjunction with Team Leader to oversee all aspects of the day to day production requirements including product flow, training and job rotation.

    Essential Job Functions

    Managing Employees:

    • On the job training under the mentoring of TL II or III.
    • Represent Management- Communicate Vision, Values, Quality & Safety Policies, Strategic Initiatives, Company Goals, policies and information updates.
    • Performance Evaluation and management (including annual performance reviews, Performance Improvement Plans, Disciplinary process).
    • Handle all Day-to-day employee relations issues with support from Human Resources when needed
    • Manage work schedules
    • Manage Kronos, IBM web pages, vacation, PTO, & OT
    • Hiring (Interviewing & New hire orientation)
    • On-going training (GMP & Manufacturing procedures)
    • Develop high performance teams (Meet key metrics: Efficiency, MPS attainment, MRRs & Safety)

    Operations:

    • Manage product through entire manufacturing process using the Management Operating System to drive continuous improvement.
    • Ensure a safe work environment (reinforce safety culture, Hazcom, incident investigation and follow up, ensure stretching and job rotation, support ergonomic initiatives, etc)
    • Ensure compliance to our Quality Systems
    • Manage all headcount requirements.
    • Support and execute new product introductions, transfers & CIPs.
    • MRB coordination
    • Develop and meet department budget requirements. Ensure accuracy of supporting documentation i.e. standards, routings and spending history.
    • Approve all standard changes to bill of materials and routings made by engineers, production clerks etc.
    • Management in conjunction with planners, of shop floor inventory

    Basic Qualifications

    • Demonstrated leadership qualities and the ability to coach/mentor others.
    • Solid communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Business & financially oriented.

     

    Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge

    • JDE/ERP experience a plus.
    • Ability to deal with and manage change.

    Education and/or Experience

    Associate’s Degree preferred, and/or minimum 1-2 years experience in manufacturing environment.

    Physical Demands

    Occasionally requires light physical effort as in periods of prolonged standing, sitting at files or work tables or bending, stooping or reaching and/or occasional lifting of light items (i.e. up to 30 lbs).  May require some exposure to chemicals used in manufacturing processes.

    Work Environment

    Some minor physical inconvenience or discomfort occasionally present in the work situation (moderate noise, disagreeable odors, etc.). OR occasional exposure to minor injury or other health hazard requiring some precaution.
