    Summary of Position with General Responsibilities

    Design and implement lean management system and training programs which deliver targeted business results for Glens Falls Operation. Develop and lead teams to ensure plant meets cost improvement goals. Manage multiple projects at varying stages of the training/development life cycle simultaneously, tracking productivity and progress. Teach, coach, influence, and act as an ambassador and leader in contributing to the development of a continuous improvement and learning culture.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Identify training needs for the organization, propose training and development programs and objectives; as well as develop, implement and deliver training programs utilizing a variety of media.
    • Consults with department managers and supervisors to assess training needs and develops training strategy.
    • Facilitate learning and development tools and resources such as needs assessments, job skills training and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
    • Facilitate workshops and resulting action plans with cross-functional groups regarding process improvement topics such as materials flow, goal setting, innovation, brainstorming, etc.
    • Plans and organizes employee development, and training events i.e. Lean Bootcamp.
    • Trains and coaches managers, supervisors and others involved in employee development efforts.
    • Develop and implement methods, tools, metrics to measure the effectiveness of training
    • Create and implement change management plans that minimize employee resistance and maximize employee adoption of desired change in role, skill set or process.
    • Provide logistical support for course development, delivery, evaluation, process measurements and cost management
    • Performs other duties as required.

    Basic Qualifications

    • Fluent English, oral and written skills;
    • Exceptional communication skills - both written and verbal with all levels of the organization

    • Superior group process design and facilitation skills
    • Ability to influence and work with others at all levels of the organization
    • Direct experience leading change efforts with large -scale organizational impact
    • Knowledge of training and instructional design models (including adult learning) as well as organizational effectiveness/development theories and proven practical application experience
    • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
    • Must be a team player and able to work through and with others

    Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge

    • Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) credential;
    • Experience in medical device industry or other FDA regulated business
    • Knowledge of regulatory agencies practices and procedures        

    Education and/or Experience

    Education and/or Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, in instructional design/technology, organizational development, educational psychology or a closely related field; graduate degree preferred;
    • 6-12 years of overall experience with at least 5 years experience in designing and developing comprehensive learning and organizational effectiveness programs.    

    Physical Demands

    Occasionally requires light physical effort as in periods of prolonged standing, sitting at files or work tables, or bending, stooping, or reaching and/or occasional lifting of light items (i.e. up to 30 lbs).

    Work Environment

    Some minor physical inconvenience or discomfort occasionally present in the work environment (moderate noise, disagreeable odors, etc.). OR occasional exposure to minor injury or other health hazard requiring precaution.

     

    Training Requirements:

    On-the-job, SOPs required for position and GMP.
