    Vascular Access Devices, a sub-business unit of Medication Delivery Solutions, focuses on developing, manufacturing, and distributing high-quality medical devices used by clinicians throughout the worldwide healthcare industry to access a patient’s vasculature. Our devices assist in the delivery of chemotherapy, blood products, antibiotics, and nutrition.

    Summary of Position with General Responsibilities

    To provide clinical support to Territory and District Manager during field sales visits. To aid VAD sales personnel by building strong, working relationships with end users during product in-servicing and clinical education programs.

    Essential Job Functions

    The following duties and responsibilities are intended to be representative of the work performed by the incumbent(s) in this position and are not all-inclusive.  The omission of a specific duty or responsibility will not preclude it from the position.

    • Collect relevant product usage and performance data for marketing and new product development purposes.
    • Provide routine follow-up support to customers at end-user locations as needed.
    • Develop strong, working relationships with end-users while providing product in-servicing and clinical education.
    • Assist field sales in collection of data to support business growth and clinical effectiveness of Bard’s products.
    • Educate and inform end-users of clinical effectiveness and technical aspects of VAD products.
    • Assist in the creation and distribution of product educational materials and programs.
    • Support trade shows, educational events and National sales meetings as requested.
    • Assist field sales staff to identify sales opportunities and present outcomes of clinical data to end-users.
    • Assist sales personnel by disseminating marketing materials to end-users.
    • Incumbent will accompany Territory and District Managers on field visits as requested.
    • Assist District Managers and inside Sales training staff in training new VAD Territory Managers, Clinical Nurses or other staff as needed.
    • Follow corporate and divisional regulatory policies and approval matrices when creating and delivering educational material.

    Basic Qualifications

    • Associates degree or nursing diploma.
    • Five (5) years of general clinical experience, including three (3) years experience with specialty nursing related to a VAD product.
    • Demonstrated human relation and communication skills.
    • Ability to travel up to 70% of the time. Incumbent must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.

    Preferred qualifications include:

    • PICC experience using MST/US.

    The incumbent must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the duties and responsibilities.

    Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge

    • Extensive Bard product knowledge, including attributes, usage and benefits.
    • Knowledge derived from clinical experience in ICU, oncology, radiology, and/or PICC placement.
    • Ability to collect, analyze and present clinical data.
    • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
    • Sound understanding of medical and surgical terminology.
    • Understanding of protocols for key disease states served by VAD products.
    • Excellent listening and communication skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple customers and strong organizational skills.
    • Ability to work independently, with minimal guidance and supervision.
    • Ability to prioritize assignments. Strong time management skills.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft office software.

    Physical Demands

    Ability to sit, stand, walk and handle VAD product samples. Employee may be required to drive an automobile for extended distances depending on territory geography. Must be able to lift and carry VAD capital equipment (up to 50lbs).
