    Vascular Access Devices, a sub-business unit of Medication Delivery Solutions, focuses on developing, manufacturing, and distributing high-quality medical devices used by clinicians throughout the worldwide healthcare industry to access a patient’s vasculature.     Summary of Position with General Responsibilities

    The ideal candidate for this position will take on a strong leadership role within the finance team during this time of integration and change.The ideal candidate will not only have the ability to manage all aspects of the division’s cost accounting functions but be able to build relationships with cross functional teams within divisions. 

    Essential Job Functions

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
    • Minimum seven (7) years of relevant accounting experience.
    • Proven supervisory experience.

    Preferred qualifications include:

    • MBA and/or CPA/CMA.
    • Cost/Manufacturing background
    • Merger and Integration experience within a large global company

    The incumbent must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the duties and responsibilities.

    Basic Qualifications

    The following duties and responsibilities are intended to be representative of the work performed by the incumbent(s) in this position and are not all-inclusive. The omission of a specific duty or responsibility will not preclude it from the position.

    • Provide financial support to the Manufacturing, QA, Distribution and Selling functions.
    • Effectively manage and develop the resources of the accounting staff, including the Plant Accounting staff.
    • Oversee the monthly closing process and ensure that all inventory, gross profit and variance reporting fairly reflects the business performance.
    • Review analysis of all aspects of product/project costing including capital analysis, cost improvement project analysis and NPOA product cost analysis.
    • Manage all activities associated with the annual cost budget process, including material standards review, labor standards review, overhead spending, production planning, full absorption costing, gross profit reconciliation, capital budgeting and Distribution spending.
    • Oversee and report on the semi-annual physical inventory. This includes analysis of the division’s obsolescence position.
    • Develop operating procedures/systems to improve financial and management reporting as required.
    • Ensure all accounting activity within the position’s responsibility follows generally accepted accounting principles and is executed within the appropriate guidelines of internal control.
    • Ensure compliance with corporate financial policies and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
    • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all financial systems and reports maintained and prepared by the cost accounting functions with the knowledge that if there are errors or incorrect compilation of financial data, management will be misinformed.

    Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge

    • Effective management and communication abilitiy
    • Extensive accounting and financial background.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of sound accounting skills and internal control procedures, particularly in a manufacturing environment

    Physical Demands

    This position is in an office and laboratory environment and requires the incumbent to sit, stand and perform general office functions. The incumbent may also be required to lift up to twenty five pounds occasionally. The incumbent may be required to stand for extended periods of time. Bending, stooping and reaching are also frequently required.
