  • Summary of Position with General Responsibilities

    Proficient Team Leader and Project Manager to lead any complexity of projects to completion. The Design Engineer III must be proficient in the development of tooling and equipment for medical device manufacturing.  

    Essential Job Functions

    • Design tooling and equipment based on engineering and tolerance analysis.
    • Develop equipment and tooling based on product design.
    • Improve processes through equipment design and automation.
    • Design and development tooling and complex equipment.
    • Oversee the building and testing of prototype equipment or systems.
    • Organize and maintain files for engineering specifications and drawings (i.e., tools, equipment, facility, etc.).
    • Perform troubleshooting of manufacturing tooling and equipment.
    • Author technical reports related to tooling and equipment.
    • Lead multiple major equipment design projects simultaneously.
    • Coordinates in-house resources and outside contractors to maintain on-time delivery of design related capital equipment projects.
    • Budget management.

    Basic Qualifications

    • Lean Manufacturing experience and automation skills.
    • Demonstrated leadership experience leading a team and projects.
    • Must be proficient in designing equipment and tooling for manufacturing processes.
    • Solid engineering analysis experience.

    Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge

    • Medical Device Industry experience.


    Education and/or Experience

    • BS Degree in Engineering.
    • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in designing complex equipment and tooling for manufacturing processes.

    Physical Demands


    Occasionally requires light physical effort as in periods of prolonged standing, sitting at files or work tables or bending, stooping or reaching and/or occasional lifting of light items (i.e. up to 30 lbs).

    Work Environment

    May require some exposure to chemicals used in manufacturing processes. Occasional exposure to potential for minor injury, or other health hazard requiring some precaution.
