The Associate Budget Analyst position is located at the BD Urology & Critical Care Business Unit in Covington, GA.

Summary of Position with General Responsibilities

The Associate Budget Analyst will have responsibility for the financial and accounting functions within the Sales Enablement and Event Group. This includes but is not limited to budget, tracking, reporting and various general ledger and financial forecasting activities.

Essential Job Functions

  • Forecasts, tracks and reports franchise and departmental costs and expenses, maintains detailed analysis of those costs and provides reports as needed.
  • Identifies areas for financial improvement and makes recommendations while handling multiple demands and priorities.
  • Works closely with Finance and Accounting to ensure budget, forecast, and account accuracy.
  • Tracks daily, monthly and yearly departmental expenditures, accruals and ensures balanced budget.
  • Prepares and processes purchase orders, invoices and requests checks for payment and ensures timely payment of invoices.
  • Serves as internal and external point of contact for all financial related issues.
  • Works with existing software platforms. Customizes the program requirements, develops templates to improve user efficiency and keeps cost information updated within the program and easily accessible to management and staff.
  • Completes special projects and other duties as assigned by manager.
  • Pursues personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role and future opportunities.
  • Adhere to and ensure compliance with C. R. Bard, Inc., Bard MDU and Event guidelines, protocols and policies.

Basic Qualifications

• Must have a thorough understanding of basic accounting principles, general ledger and budget preparation, expenditure forecasting, tracking and reporting. • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Word, Power Point and other PC software applications. • Must demonstrate a moderate to high level of skill in the use of Microsoft Excel for spreadsheet and database management including the use of mathematical and statistical formulas, and pivot tables. • Must work independently and have the ability to exercise sound business judgment and discretion in all matters and apply creativity to problem solving. • Detail-oriented with very good organizational, interpersonal, written and communication skills and be adaptable to change. Effective communication skills are essential with various disciplines both internal and external to Bard. • Displays a professional presence/manner but able to take an unpopular stand if necessary. Faces challenging situations head on and is comfortable around higher management.

Education and/or Experience

  • AS degree required; Bachelor of Science in Finance, Accounting or Business is highly desirable
  • 3+ years experience working in a Bookkeeping or Accounting environment.


Physical Demands

Work Environment

  • This position generally works in an office environment under controlled conditions.  A willingness to work flexible hours is required and limited overnight travel may be necessary.
