  • Summary of Position with General Responsibilities

    Under the general supervision of the Service Quality Engineer Supervisor, the Quality Analysis Technician will be actively involved in aspects of the Quality System like root-cause analysis, failure mode effects analysis, CAPA activities, and perform quality reviews on service documentation according to documented methods.

    Essential Job Functions

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Component level troubleshooting, fault reproduction, and failure analysis on returned product
    • Review quality trends to prevent or reduce defects, determine problem causes, and initiate actions to correct them, convincing others of the validity of potential solutions
    • Assist with resolving quality problems within the Service department, such as documentation or non-compliance issues
    • Support follow up of root cause(s) with appropriate source (mfg, supplier, design, etc)
    • Assist with coordinating complaint investigation with divisional Field Assurance as required
    • Work with appropriate divisional Field Assurance to resolve quality issues with documentation as required
    • Liaise with Service QA, Service Manager and engineers and others involved in service in order to create plans to improve process quality
    • Assist engineer in CAPA activities, including assignment as a CAPA member
    • Document and report failure analysis results
    • Identify product improvement opportunities
    • Participate in MRB review and corrective actions
    • Work with S&R organization to improve repair cycle time
    • Make suggestions as to how to improve the quality assurance process in S&R organization


    Additional Job Functions:

    • Assist as required in performing non-conformance investigations
    • Other duties as required



    Basic Qualifications


    • Basic familiarity with FDA QSR and/or ISO 9000/ISO 13485 Quality System Requirements preferred
    • Ability to address quality concerns using a positive, mentoring, and win-win approach
    • Ability to efficiently collect and analyze data
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Demonstrated strong attention to detail and “do it right the first time” attitude
    • Must be a team player working across functional groups at all levels of the organization



    Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge

    • Experience in using test equipment, e.g., DMM/DVM, scope, etc
    • Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R)
    • Strong familiarity with MS Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
    • Basic familiarity with ServiceMax preferred
    • Ability to utilize a computer to enter data and prepare reports


    Education and/or Experience

    • Associates degree or professional certification preferred
    • 0-3 years experience performing quality assurance reviews in an FDA or ISO regulated environment

    • ASQ certification, Quality Technician preferred

    Physical Demands

    • Employee may be required to sit, bend, stoop, use keyboard, see, talk, and hear.
    • May occasionally lift objects up to 20 pounds.
    • The noise level in the work environment is quiet to moderate.


    Work Environment

    • This position works in an office environment of a manufacturing facility.
