  • Summary of Position with General Responsibilities

    Responsible for ensuring production and auxiliary equipment is maintained to meet production goals.  Responsibilities are multi skilled, which demonstrate competency in mechanical systems, electrical systems, motor controls, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and electronics.  Responsibilities also include assisting maintenance personnel with daily tasks, ensuring completion of projects, and ensuring proper documentation of work performed.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Troubleshoot PLC’s, motor controls, electrical systems, electronics, and mechanical systems.
    • Lead maintenance personnel with the troubleshooting and repairing production equipment and plant utilities, as needed.
    • Use knowledge of craft to cross train other maintenance associates as directed.
    • Utilize hand and power tools safely and effectively.
    • Utilize technical manuals or bulletins, as well as blueprints in daily activities.
    • Write work orders.
    • Utilize analog and digital measuring equipment, as needed.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Basic Qualifications

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must demonstrate exceptional proficiency of the Electrical/Electronics skill set. The individual must have an understanding of mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, manufacturing processes, plant systems and equipment. In addition, the individual will be required to work/train on skills and tasks outside their area of specialty. Must demonstrate ability to troubleshoot and modify PLC programs in ladder logic. Must have extensive knowledge of Allen Bradley component including 500 series and Control Logix processors.  This includes Allen Bradley servos motors and drive systems.


    Requirements: High School diploma or GED, Associates degree preferred; Must be able to apply algebraic equations for problem solving; Minimum 3 to 5 years in industrial PLC maintenance and support; Ability to utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for handling work orders, inventory control, and preventive maintenance; Ability to make red line changes to schematics, blueprints, or design drawings; Ability to write procedures as a guide for problem solving; Excellent communication skills; Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

    Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge

    • Associates degree in electrical technology preferred.
    • Working knowledge in CMMS, worksheet, and word processing software.
    • Respirator Physical and Fit Test.
