Vascular Access Devices, a sub-business unit of Medication Delivery Solutions, focuses on developing, manufacturing, and distributing high-quality medical devices used by clinicians throughout the worldwide healthcare industry to access a patient’s vasculature. Our devices assist in the delivery of chemotherapy, blood products, antibiotics, and nutrition.

Summary of Position with General Responsibilities

District Manager within the BD Vascular Access Devices selling organization. This position is located in the primary market/territory of Houston, Texas.

Essential Job Functions

The following duties and responsibilities are intended to be representative of the work performed by the incumbent(s) in this position and are not all-inclusive.  The omission of a specific duty or responsibility will not preclude it from the position.

  • Implements, directs, and controls district sales activities.
  • Effectively drives and manages New Product Sales within District
  • Responsible for understanding and the ability to demonstrate/implement all Bard Access Systems Products.
  • Effectively hold all TMs accountable for sales objectives
  • Effectively manage Clinical Specialist time and assignments in order to maximize productivity within District.
  • Recommends, implements, and promotes contests and other incentive programs.
  • Recruits, interviews, and selects sales personnel.
  • Develops district personnel to assume increased responsibilities.
  • Operates a district sales office and maintains pertinent records.
  • Plans and conducts district sales meetings.
  • Communicates with Sales Leadership on pricing,, product acceptance, and marketing strategies.
  • Responsible for Key Account (top revenue producing) relationships within District.
  • Communicates and works closely with National Account Managers regarding accounts within District boundaries.
  • Communicates and works closely with Bard Corporate Healthcare (RVPs) regarding accounts within District boundaries.
  • Recruitment, training, development, and retention of highly productive Territory Managers.
  • Effective participation in sales compensation planning, marketing strategies and product development to assure Bard's continued growth.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Management or related area.
  • Five (5) years outside medical sales experience or equivalency.
  • Demonstrated human relation and communications skills.

The incumbent must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the duties and responsibilities.

  • Knowledge of medical products distribution systems.

Physical Demands

This position is in an office and laboratory environment and requires the incumbent to sit, stand and perform general office functions. The incumbent may also be required to lift up to twenty five pounds occasionally. The incumbent may be required to stand for extended periods of time. Bending, stooping and reaching are also frequently required.
