Summary of Position with General Responsibilities

Manage and lead Engineering Programs and technical resources to achieve facility and corporate vision, strategies and goals.

Essential Job Functions

  • Participates in developing and executing strategic initiatives for the facility.
  • Recruit, train and develop technical resources to support the plant goals and business strategies.
  • Prioritize projects and programs based on business needs and resource requirements.
  • Manage and participate in programs to achieve:
    • Process improvement and cost reduction.
    • High standards of facility compliance.
    • Process validation.
    • Technology transfers (on-load/off-load)
  • Plan, organize, and direct engineering documentation/reports that are scientifically based, reliable, and verifiable.
  • Network with internal and external customers to develop an effective service organization.
  • Demonstrate the vision to develop an effective, proactive, technical organization.
  • Continuously improve the operating procedures of the Quality System.

Basic Qualifications

  • Proven track record of managing staff of 15+ engineers, and multi-disciplinary teams with measurable results.
  • Excellent leadership and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of process validation.
  • Experience in Medical Device engineering, and working knowledge of FDA/ISO regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated understanding of financial cost systems.

Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge

 

  • Possess or pursuing an advanced degree.
  • Experience in a Medical Manufacturing environment.

Education and/or Experience

  • Four year degree in Engineering/Technical field.
  • Eight+ (8+) years’ experience in a Continuous Improvement/Lean Manufacturing Environment.

Physical Demands

Occasionally requires light physical effort as in periods of prolonged standing, sitting at files or work tables or bending, stooping or reaching and/or occasional lifting of light items (i.e. up to 30 lbs). May require some exposure to chemicals used in manufacturing processes.

Work Environment

Some minor physical inconvenience or discomfort occasionally present in the work situation (moderate noise, disagreeable odors, etc.). OR occasional exposure to minor injury or other health hazard requiring some precaution.
