The Glens Falls Operation is known as Bard’s Technology Center and is Bard’s largest domestic manufacturing facility employing approximately 700 in a three shift operation. The Glens Falls Operation manufactures over 20 different product lines serving all Bard Divisions
Primary focus of position is to conduct analytical work in a QC lab. Analytical tests include HPLC, dissolution analysis, and wet chemistry of active pharmaceutical ingredients, raw materials, coating formulations, and drug products. Scope of position includes transfer and validation of chromatographic methods and evaluation of product performance chromatographic techniques. The candidate will perform data interpretation, technical report writing, equipment qualification/software validation, as well instrument and test method troubleshooting. The candidate will also provide technical support to multidisciplinary project teams and support of internal customers in R&D, Quality, Operations, and Regulatory Affairs. The candidate will also interact externally with Contract Testing Labs as required.
Working knowledge of drug formulation, degradation mechanisms, and processing effects
Experience with other analytical techniques including LC-MS, GC-MS, dissolution, FTIR
B.S. degree in Chemistry (or equivalent) with 5-7 years of directly related experience in a pharmaceutical analytical laboratory
Occasionally requires light physical effort as in periods of prolonged standing, sitting at files or work tables or bending, stooping or reaching and/or occasional lifting of light items (i.e. up to 30 lbs). May require some exposure to chemicals used in manufacturing processes.
Some minor physical inconvenience or discomfort occasionally present in the work situation (moderate noise, disagreeable odors, etc.) Occasional exposure to potential for minor injury or other health hazard requiring some precaution.
