Summary of Position with General Responsibilities

Prepares financial analyses and contractual content for agreements for internal and external Bard customers.


Essential Job Functions

  • Responsible for the development and successful approval of financially viable agreements in support of divisional sales and profit goals. Providing Corporate Legal with the divisional position on business-related terms and conditions;
  • Ensuring that such agreements are completed in a professional manner and delivered accurately and on time to customer specifications;
  • Tracking of customer usage to determine customer compliance with agreements;
  • Ensuring Bard compliance with the agreements including, but not limited to, timely payment of fees to customers.
  • Prepare and present Executive Summaries including identification of program potential and financial impact to BPV (e.g. Gross Profitability, Return on Assets, Break-even, Risk Assessment)
  • Key decision-maker and contributor to the creation and evaluation of field transactions (e.g. Customer Rebate Agreements, Custom LOC (Letter of Commitment) Agreements, etc.);
  • Ensure proper accruals of customer incentive agreements
  • Prepare accurate and timely rebate and/or fee reporting to customers as dictated by agreements
  • Determine validity of customers’ positions related to fee discrepancies, and take the appropriate actions to eliminate outstanding customer dissatisfaction
  • Understand and update monthly memberships for group contracts
  • Load / update agreement pricing
  • Develop, maintain and update business system processes, as required.
  • Assist with RFPs/RFIs/Bids (data pulls, questionnaires, customer templates, sales and usage analyses)
  • Assist Lead and other team members with special projects and ad hoc requests.

Supervisor/Management Responsibilities:

  • The ability to make decisions with minimal supervision, within short time periods and sometimes without all of the facts is a must. 
  • Ability to provide guidance to sales partners on proposals that support the driver goals of the company

 Fiscal/Budgetary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure incremental revenue or price loss and gross profitability are properly calculated and communicated to senior leadership in the approval request process
  • Ensure customer incentive fees are accurately paid and properly reported to Finance for timely accruals 
  • Ensure pricing discrepancies are researched timely and credits are processed immediately upon determination that they are owed

Customer and Key Contacts:

  • Bard end customers (Providers), Distributors, Field Sales, Corporate Credit, Regional VP’s, National Accounts, Marketing, Customer Service, Field Inventory, Legal, Compliance, and Human Resources
  • Support Bard end customers (Providers), such as individual accounts, IDNs, and regional / national group organizations in order to develop agreements on behalf of Bard.
  • Coordinate with the Sales Force (including TMs, DMs and RMs), National Accounts Managers, Corporate Regional Vice Presidents, Corporate Law Department personnel and Finance on the development, distribution and compliance with Rebates, LOC’s, proposals and other agreements to ensure that BPV’s risk has been mitigated to the greatest extent possible given the competitive landscape. 
  • Work closely with Finance to ensure proper accruals of customer incentive agreements

Basic Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of business operations, supply chain or customer service or related field.
  • Proven time and process management capabilities.
  • Must be detail oriented with good organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical aptitude with the proven ability to analyze and interpret data.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to work professionally in person, via email and over the phone.
  • self-motivated and a team player
  • Must be able to handle a high volume of work in a fast paced environment while performing work accurately under time constraints
  • Expert in Microsoft Office programs (specifically Excel) and basic enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Ability to work closely with sales leadership and Corporate Legal, understanding business risk and exposure

Education and/or Experience

  • BS in Business Administration / Finance or equivalent business experience required
  • 4 years financial analysis / pricing experience
  • 4+ years contracts administration experience and/or customer service experience, preferred

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to manipulate, handle or feel objects, tools, controls and office equipment.  The employee frequently is required to talk and hear.
