Summary of Position with General Responsibilities

Having been a leading manufacturer of medical device products for more than 100 years, C.R. BARD is now looking to develop the next generation of supply chain excellence. The Supply Chain Process Improvement team’s primary role consists of identifying opportunities to promote the delivery of safer, more effective products and treatments for our patients. We do this by reducing costs and improving the quality of BARD’s products through continuous improvement initiatives, applying Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles throughout BARD’s supply chain network. We balance both technical and business acumen and are solid business partners, actively sought by other functional groups throughout the company.

                       

The Supply Chain Process Improvement team works with the business to establish benchmarks against which BARD’s processes will be measured and audited. These benchmarks must be quantifiable, attainable, and realistic and measured frequently to focus on improving the process. Furthermore, we measure success by engaging in multiple improvement initiatives simultaneously and executing them accordingly.

Essential Job Functions

  • Identify and vet new process improvement opportunities with senior Supply Chain leadership team
  • Track and report performance metrics on a weekly and monthly basis
  • Leverage Lean Concepts and Six Sigma tools to develop and effectively implement advanced Supply Chain solutions, processes, and systems improvements
  • Partner with Division Forecasting, Operations, New Product Development, and Finance to develop and implement feasible and successful new product launches
  • Lead and manage a world-class team of Supply Planning Analysts by recruiting, training, mentoring, and rewarding for high levels of company contribution
  • Provide personal development and learning opportunities that support individual subordinate growth and career development

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or Operations required with a minimum of 7 years of related experience; or MBA/MS in relevant discipline and 2 – 6 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of statistics and statistical analysis.
  • Must have experience in forecasting, inventory management, and capacity planning techniques.
  • Experience within multiple ERP/MRP systems required.
  • A minimum of two years managing direct reports. 
  • Must have strong analytical, project management, and consulting skills, with the ability to influence, work effectively, and implement solutions in a cross-functional, team environment. Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Must demonstrate strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • 50% Travel is required.

Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge

  • Prior BARD experience preferred.
  • Experience in distribution and lifecycle management recommended.
  • Six Sigma Greenbelt Certification preferred.
  • Some experience with Advanced Planning Systems (Demantra, ASCP, PDP, and Manugistics) a plus.
  • Prior Marketing experience is helpful.
