The Quality Assurance Specialist position is located in Covington, Georgia at C. R. Bard Medical Division.

Summary of Position with General Responsibilities

The Quality Assurance Specialist works in the Quality Assurance Technical Services/ Document Control area and administers the Customer Request process and other document control functions. This position includes this function, as well as other duties in support of QA Technical Services/Document Control and Project/Design Control, and the managing of records in the EDMS (Electronic Documentation Management System), as well as interacting with the JDE ERP system.

Essential Job Functions

  • Study and stay abreast of Bard products to serve as a subject matter expert to assist with customer inquiries.
  • Research, analyze and provide accurate and timely information upon requests of external customers, as well as internal Bard functional areas such as marketing, sales, manufacturing, quality assurance, regulatory affairs, R&D, and legal.
  • Track, maintain, and manage the Customer Requests system database.
  • Streamline, manage and maintain record retention compliance for BMD-Covington.
  • Serve as a backup in managing and processing document change requests in the EDMS
  • Serve as a backup in issuing documents and Projects/CRs/waivers
  • Serve as a backup in maintaining the project number log/CSA log
  • Serve as a backup in maintaining the “Product Hold” spreadsheet and JDE QA “Product Hold”.
  • Serve as a backup to maintain the BMD-Covington Standards Library.
  • Serve as a backup in maintaining the filing system for released document contingency files.
  • Complete word processing/redlines of documents as necessary.
  • Provide all user levels (Viewer, Rev/App and Power Users) with EDMS system support
  • Assist other members of Technical Services/Document Control team via cross training.
  • Other departmental/process improvement projects as required

Basic Qualifications

  • Proficient in the use of a personal computer with intermediate level of keyboarding skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
  • Detailed oriented and strong organizational skills.
  • Strong communication, customer service, writing, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to research and organize technical (QA/RA) product information for customer requests
  • Ability to be flexible in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to multitask efficiently
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in oral, written, or diagram form.
  • Ability to solve practical job-related problems while working independently with minimal supervision.

Education and/or Experience

  • Associate Degree required. Higher education preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of job-related experience.
  • Familiarity with technical wording and documentation.

Physical Demands

Required to sit, talk, hear, stand, bend, reach with hands, lift or move up to 25 lbs. (archive record boxes). Vision requirements include ability to see and interact with a computer.

Work Environment

This position works in a normal office environment. The noise level in the work environment is quiet to moderate.
