Overview:
Responsible for initiating the sterilization process to include preparation and placement of biological indicators, and activities to assure that product is received into sterilization process per specification and procedures. Responsible for all warehouse/material distribution tasks relative to receiving product into Regional Sterilization.

Essential Job Functions:

  

  • Verify the catalog numbers, lot numbers, quantities, and expiration dates as applicable.
  • Complete inventory transactions for receiving product into Regional Sterilization.
  • Assembly/building sterilization loads according to defined palletization diagrams.
  • Assemble biological indicator systems per approved procedure. Place biological indicators into the sterilization load.
  • Perform product preparation for validation studies.
  • Performing inspections of product per approved procedure.
  • Initiating the sterilization load record documentation.
  • Coordinating special sterilization and special sample handling.
  • Move material throughout the Sterilization area. Locating materials into pallet/BIN locations. Using a variety of material-handling equipment.
  • Operate inventory control system (P.C. based) primarily JD Edwards and IBM Data Collection.
  • Will effectively complete other functions and responsibilities that may be assigned

 

 



Basic Qualifications:
• Possess a basic understanding of the sterilization process.
• Knowledge of GMPs, GDPs
• Must have forklift experience
• Must have material handling equipment experience
• Possess basic computer skills
• Possess knowledge of warehouse equipment such as shrink wrap machines and
strapping machines
• Good organizational skills
• Self-starter

Education and/or Experience:

 

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent, with preferably some technical or college education.
  • Two to 4 years of experience in the operation of material handling equipment and inventory management is desirable.

While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to episodes of prolonged standing, walking, bending, twisting and turning, and frequent use of hands to finger, handle and feel. This job includes detailed close vision work.The employee must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs. In addition, the employee is exposed to extreme variations in temperature.
